Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How long does the putting green or synthetic lawn take to install?
It depends on the size of the putting green, but the average putting green takes 1-7 days from start to finish.

What holds the putting green turf down?
The putting green turf is sanded with approximately 7 pounds per square foot of silica sand and granulized rubber mixture. The weight of the sand alone will hold the putting green down.

Will my putting green or synthetic lawn fade?
You will notice that the deep green shine will disappear. This will leave you with a duller putting green or synthetic lawn which looks more natural. The putting green turf fiber is UV stabilized.

How durable is the putting green or synthetic lawn turf?
It is extremely durable to the extent that you can hit irons off of it into a net. Children can also use this area as a playground without the risk of doing any damage to the putting green or synthetic lawn turf.

What purpose does sand serve on my putting green?
It will move with the ball absorbing the shock and giving the putting green cushion, so that you can chip onto the putting green. It is also used to control the speed at which the ball will roll. The more sand applied, the faster the playing surface or higher stimpmeter rating.

How often does sand need to be applied to my putting green?
Every year a bag or two might need to be added. The putting green turf is so dense that there is very little movement of the sand itself.

Can the putting green turf be seamed to make any size?
Yes, by using a seam sealer and adhesive we can create most any size. Keep in mind that the synthetic putting green turf comes in 12 foot widths only.

Can the cups be moved on the putting green?
No. Once cut they cannot be moved. Four to five holes are sufficient for most putting greens.

How do you clean the putting green turf?
A stiff push broom or blower will usually do the job, but if not water and a stiff brush should do.

How long should the putting green last?
Based on the life of similar artificial turf used in football, baseball and soccer, we anticipate the average putting green to last at least 10-12 years. We have the longest warranty in the business (8 years) against rotting, fading and breaking down.

What makes the putting green or synthetic lawn turf so unique?
We use a polypropylene, polyethylene hybrid fiber. It is the highest quality synthetic turf on the market — stronger, softer and more resilient than just a polypropylene fiber. The speed can be adjusted to play between 8.5 and 12.5 on a stempmeter (comparable to most nice country club putting greens).

How do you trim the grass around the putting green?
Although a weedeater will not damage the synthetic turf, it should not be necessary to use one. Most people can run a mower along the edge of the putting green and keep it looking fine.
